SWOT

Hey There

Overall, I believe I remained consistent with the goals and strategies outlined in my original SWOT analysis. While I was able to make progress in many areas, one of the most significant challenges I faced was in the area of promotion, which I had identified early on as a key weakness. This aspect proved to be the most difficult for me to manage effectively. I had initially hoped to have several months to promote the gig properly, giving myself enough time to build anticipation and reach a wider audience. However, due to time constraints, I ended up with only a few weeks to promote the event, which significantly limited what I was able to achieve on that front.
In terms of the threats I had identified, the one I found the hardest to overcome was the challenge of promoting the gig across multiple online platforms. While I had originally intended to use a variety of digital channels, in the end, I primarily focused on Instagram and relied heavily on physical promotional methods, such as putting up posters on village and town noticeboards. Although this approach was somewhat effective, I recognise that a broader online presence could have helped reach a wider audience and potentially increased attendance. That said, I do feel that I made genuine progress in addressing both my weaknesses and threats.
Throughout the course of the project, I was able to actively work on improving in these areas, and I believe the experience has contributed significantly to my personal and professional development. For instance, my communication skills have noticeably improved, particularly when it comes to interacting with bands, solo performers, venue owners, and local shop owners. I’ve become more confident and professional in my approach, which has helped to build better working relationships and ensure smoother coordination. Another key skill that I believe I developed during this project is my organisation. I took the time to create detailed timelines and schedules, which I was able to stick to consistently. This allowed me to stay on track and make sure everything ran as planned. I also ensured that all performers and participants were fully informed of when and where they needed to be, which helped the event run smoothly and efficiently.
Resilience is another area where I feel I’ve grown significantly. Throughout the process of working on both my saxophone repertoire and the Vibe & Thrive project, I encountered a number of challenges. These included difficulties securing a venue, not having access to the correct reeds when I needed them, and lacking confidence in using Logic Pro for recording and mixing. Despite these obstacles, I found ways to adapt and push through, ultimately overcoming each issue in turn. This persistence allowed me to complete both projects successfully and to a standard I’m proud of.
In conclusion, I believe this project has not only helped me achieve the goals I set for myself but also equipped me with a stronger set of transferable skills that I will continue to build upon in future musical and professional endevours.
